Abraham Hulk Jr. (1851 - 1922)

Abraham Hulk, junior (1851-1922) - landscape painter Abraham Hulk junior was the son of Abram Hulk senior (London), (1813-1897).

 

Life and work: Like his father, he spent most of his life in England and made frequent trips to the Netherlands, where he worked in various places. In both countries, Abraham Hulk junior is seen as one of their own painters. . He was born in London and lived and worked here and in Nottingham and in Dorking, (surrey). Abraham Hulk Jr. reached his artistic peak between 1876 and 1892. During these periods he received much appreciation at leading exhibitions such as the Royal Academy, where he exhibited a total of 24 works over the years. He also participated 15 times in the annual exhibitions of the Royal Society of British Artists. He became best known for his typical Dutch and Southern English landscapes, which he masterfully captured in watercolor oil paint.
